My secret life? Actually, this is it! There are many more people who know me from my day job than from my music. So if one of the two could be termed "secret" it would probably have to be the musical side.
During the day, I'm a mild mannered engineer, working out of my home for a well-known consulting firm. My work focuses on helping public agencies plan, design, build, and operate intelligent transportation systems, such as those that include the cameras on urban freeways and changeable signs over the road to warn you of crashes or congestion. I have a BS, MS, and PhD in Civil Engineering, as well as a Professional Engineer's License in several states, and I taught at a major university for a number of years.

I started with piano lessons in second grade, picked up the guitar in sixth, and by high school was in the church adult choir, youth choir, school choir, show choir, All State Choir, leading worship for my youth group, and for a semester played bass in the high school jazz band. Perhaps above average in some musical pursuits, but I am by no means a prodigee. In college I considered majoring in music, but realized that I could be an engineer for a living and play music on weekends, but not the other way around. And so it is. I wrote a few songs here and there, but very infrequently until about 2005. I have led worship in several campus groups, church groups, and for my home church's Sunday service. Leading worship for a college and career function was where I met my wife, Heidi.
